See the operational breakdowns coming before they hit the P&L.

DuluthPath detects supplier delays, stockouts, cross-system process failures, service interruption risk, transformation-program risk, and critical operational dependencies — explains the root cause and coordinates mitigation under your approval controls.

Organizational problem

Operations fail at the seams. The purchase order was raised in ERP, the acknowledgement never arrived in the WMS, the carrier accepted the shipment but didn't tender it, the customer-service queue filled up at 2am and no one on the daytime team saw the signal until 10am. The disruption is retrospectively obvious.

Why existing systems miss it

Every operational system is excellent at its own job and blind to the handoffs between it and its neighbors. The handoff is where disruption lives. Supervisor and manager dashboards each show their own window — none shows the chain.

Signals DuluthPath analyzes

  • Supplier ASN missing beyond the configured lead-time window for a PO.
  • Inventory on hand projected below safety stock within the current replenishment cycle.
  • Cross-system process instance where step N completed but step N+1 has not fired within the SLA.
  • Service-ticket volume spike against the 30-day baseline for a specific product / region.
  • Transformation-program milestone slipping with upstream dependencies at risk.
  • Single-source operational dependencies (one vendor, one tool, one person) crossing a configurable risk threshold.

How DuluthPath detects the issue

DuluthPath subscribes to events from each connected operational system — the ERP for POs and inventory, the CRM for service tickets, the WMS/TMS where connected. Cross-system choreography is modeled explicitly so a missing event in a known choreography is itself a signal, not just the absence of noise.

Root-cause analysis

For each disruption candidate the Orchestrator traces the choreography back to the last-known-good state, identifies the system responsible for the failed handoff, and ranks the most-likely cause (data, availability, policy, upstream dependency) with a confidence score and a cited evidence chain.

Financial, customer, operational and compliance impact

financial impact

Avoided SLA penalties, protected margin on expedited shipments, reduced air-freight overspend.

customer impact

Service continuity maintained; proactive customer communication before the breakdown is customer-visible.

operational impact

Transformation-program slippage caught at week 2 instead of week 8.

compliance impact

Operational-resilience evidence for regulated industries where it is required.

Recommended actions

  • Operations-approved re-route / expedite / split-order with the margin impact dollarized before approval.
  • Alternate-supplier activation using the pre-negotiated backup contract.
  • Service-ticket surge triage with routing-rule recommendations.
  • Transformation-program risk escalation to the sponsor with the specific dependency named.

Approval and execution controls

Operations leadership approves every write-back to the ERP / WMS / TMS. Rollback plans are documented alongside the forward step. Nothing writes without the human in the loop.

Outcome verification

Did the expected re-route land? Did the service surge subside? Did the transformation milestone recover? Each action is checked against expected result within the configured verification window.

Industry adaptations

  • Manufacturing — production-line disruption detected from maintenance + inventory + supplier signals.
  • Logistics — carrier-tender gap detection and SLA-protection re-routing.
  • Life Sciences — supply continuity on validated materials with regulatory evidence preserved.
  • Energy & Utilities — asset-reliability anomaly detection against the maintenance history.
